i used to keep regular lamprologus brichari in my 56 gallon (just dont have that iridescent flare the neos do). i had them in with assorted other cichlids at the time (yellow labs, mbunas, peacocks, SA, CA). i bought 6 to start. they were not really aggressive and got along well until fry arrived. i got two breeding pairs out of the set. they took the hollowed trees or dug under rocks, and were very vigilant in keeping all other tankmates away once fry arrived. it was as if the tank had an invisible divider. the brichardis had free reign, but nobody else ventured to their side.

it was still peaceful when boundaries were set. didnt lose any fish to aggression. when i moved to TX from PA, i essentially had to just give about 100 of varying sizes away (plus original pairs) to an LFS that agreed to take them. i even had plecos in there who are notorious egg eaters, and the population still grew fast.

            thanks every one.
"What would u like to know about the?" crazy42bmx the thought is in a 29 gal 4 of these due to size of tank? is this the right idea for a small cichlids? is the one I listed a dwarf or not. I don't want to put a fish in a tank not big enough for it. Il check back later today after work thanks again.
algarciajr: are the ones your are selling ? when full grown what is the max size?

A 29 gal should be ok for a small group if you keep off loading fry. just know they breed quickly in good conditions. they can start breeding at around the 2 inch size, and my adults got to around 4-5 inch tip of mouth to tip of tail fins (males were bigger than females). some get up to 6 inch - most is their tail length. since they care for eachothers fry in a school, there is a good survival rate.

overall were neat fish. if i did them again it would be a species-specific tank.

oh man, that look great. I will have to do some thinking. and ask more questions. like what is the best way to clean a tank that has been is storage for a while? what it be better of keep only this one or a group with some other different fish?

I clean old tanks with hot water, vinegar, and a lil elbow grease. Maybe a razor if it's real bad.

no just build of dust and stuff from the attic. tested tank sunday night held water for 5 hours. only one small crack in the plastic trim. which should be ok. my wife and I have to agree on where to put the tank and still need a stand for it. but I want to plan out the tank build. to try to have less problems. lol that wont happen. just plan and do but K.I.S.S. gaol is to be up and running by 2nd week of may and ready for fish at end of may.

Shouldn't be too bad to clean up, and the trim won't be an issue either. Take your time man, are you gonna build the stand yourself or are you looking to buy one? Let us know if you need any help planning. If you're going tangs, Donovan (crazy42bmx) is your man
