For a while now, I have been experiencing some unfortunate low spots with my tropheus here at home. I was very upset when I had to tear down my 125 at work and disturb those kids I had there because they where doing so well and we had a fantastic feeding & tank cleaning schedule going at work. And then, on top of all the recent casualities I suffered from my yellow nkonde's I have been about as far down as one can get when it comes to keeping fish.
Then today, just a few hours ago, I came home from work and went immediately to my 210 to see if I had any new casualties today, luckily, there where none. I was relieved of course, but upon further examination of my tank I started to smile and that smile got bigger and bigger.....I spotted a tiny little ray of hope for those guys in the rocks....several, I don't know how many baby fry where sprinting from cover to cover. There must be a half dozen or more, and it appears to be from a couple of females because the fry and two different sizes, five or six are tiny little boogers and then there's a few that are almost as big as the small guys I gave Fishlady.
Well, I am happy for the new arrivals but still sad for all those fish I have lost, approximately 2/3rds of my yellow nkondes are gone, and so far, I've lost almost half of my kachese as well, there are only 5 or 6 of them left.
Highs and lows of keeping fish I suppose.
