  • Tropheus only eating flakes?

My tropheus only eat flakes whenever I feed them nls a few of them will eat it but most of them will put it in their mouths and then spit it out. Is this because they are wild caught and aren't used to eating pellets?

Should I starve them for a while and then feed nls so they are used to it?

Maybe find some pellets that are all veggie and mix it with the nls
Out of the hobby for now..

yes he said that he used to feed them nls and flakes but all mine are eating are flakes.
I've fed spirulina pellets and they wouldn't take it. I guess they just aren't used to pellets?

          They too wild.

Just mix flakes and pellets. Then slowly cut back on flakes.

I've had tropheus and petro die b/c they never learn to eat pellets.
I ate my fish that died.

Pro tip 29: always get a little bit of food from the seller.

Half those fish were from Hung Vo's. No telling how many were Vinnys and Hung's. Hung Vo feeds his tropheus Omega One Color Plus pellets soaked with garlic powder. Take 2 teaspoon of garlic powder and mix with water in a 16 oz water bottle. Let powder settle to bottom of bottle over night
Then soak some pellets for 20 minutes till soft. Use a seringe to pull water out of bottle to squirt on pellets. Then feed. Use all the pellets in one day. This helps for sickness also.

If they eating flakes they aren't sick.

I would not treat a fish unless it was sick.

Sounds like Vinny was taking good care of them.

P.s. so we don't do pictures anymore?

yeah that's weird I was feeding 2mm nls thera + and they would just chew on it a bit and then spit it out, but they absolutely go insane for flakes.
