Tell the wife the bed has termites. Then you can downsize the bed. you could set up in the garage, if your really ambitious you could build a fish room. Then she doesnt have to see the tanks at all. I have a friend who does construction on the side. He built a deck for my parents. When lying and compromising dont work try bribery.

That s funny, because I already tried bribery. I got her a bigger, new house, closer to her parent. I was suppose to get a fish room in the garage (it's a storage area). And I was suppose to get my monster tanks in my study, living room and bedroom. She decided to get all hardwood floors (I chose tile). She obviously won. All I had was the bedroom left. The plan was suppose to be to put an 8ft tank in front of the window, but she had wooden shutters installed, and if I put a tank there we could n't open the shutters.

She's a pro...when we first met The smallest tank I had was 120.
