  • I understand. They are no where near normal feeding yet. They will be QT'd for a minimum of 2 weeks.

I know it's hard to do because they are hungry and come to the glass every-time someone come to the tank but I rather be patience instead of losing them during quarantine.
      Add Bifuran every 24 hours
Add Metros every 8 hours .
Water change on days 3 (50%) and continues to treat with Metros for next three days .

      • Vinny your advice is spot on. I am working under Tim's QT process. We are using Parasite Guard and metro every other day. Doing water changes every 48 hours. I have the bifuran on loan from Tim incase it is needed, but we don't feel it is needed at this point. I will also be feeding medicated brine in 2 hours. And then again tomorrow and Monday. These fish are only seeing 2 feeding a day that are minimal to what they are going to be seeing. I also turned off my power heads as suggested by Tim and it seems to have helped. The fish that I was concerned about is swimming better now. Not a lot but it's not being blown about the tank.

            • So I have fed the medicated brine shrimp. the video is below. I did lose the one I suspected I would. Poor thing just had no strength left in it. It sucks but thats also why I purchased the size of the colony I did. I hope with this QT process that will be the last one lost. All the others seem healthy happy and on the move.

              • Fish are stirring up the sand a lot and the light is reflecting off that rock a lot. Good thing a water change is coming tomorrow.

                      • Starting to really think about the whole using tile idea. Still not 100% sold but I am considering it.

As I mentioned to Austin before I still like sand but don't like to scratches the tank so easily while maintaining the tank , only one tank lelf with sand and the rest I used tiles.

                          • That is a definite plus to not having sand.

I like the clean look of tile. It has pro and con. Doesn't hurt (your wallet) too much to try though.

But I still prefer sand for natural look, something for the fish to sift thru, and in my case of keeping cyphos, don't want a lot of light reflecting on the fish.
