    Some picture of my fish

    So I would like to know if some of you nice people out there can tell me a little more about my fish...

    Some are Hongi I can reconize these easily but the one you will see the most in the pictures is the one I am wondering about.
    Its not a Afra Jalo Reef as I bought two of them at the auction and they do not look the same.  See the Jalo Reef in one of the pictures.

    Not perfect.. man he moves a lot.. stand still and I can take a picture where you are not moving.


    Here is another fish I am not 100% sure what is.


    He circles this hongi all the time.  Does not bite or chase the fish.. just circles and dances around this one.

    zu.....they both look like the same species...or at least they look like mine....and i've had mine since they were itty bitty...and they look like both of those....as for the darker blue fishie i have no idea.....
    but nice pictures ....thanks for sharing....

      Note the hongi has the red fins.. the one in question has pure yellow.   This one.. I believe is the dominant male and might be the reason for his lighter colors across the body.  No question about the yellow vs red fins.

        Have you looked at all the pictures of C. afra on www.cichlidforum.com ?

          Zulaab, if those are the fish I gave you, they are all hongi. I got 8 of them from Hanson, about a year ago. I believe I gave three of them to you. I have two more if you want them.  BUT BRING YOUR OWN BUCKET!!!   :)

            Yeah I have gone though all of them and I have gone though all the hongi version and I cannot say either one gives me a perfect match.
            The Afra is blue everytime and not the lavender that this fish displays.  There is a Hongi out there that has the Lavender but the fins etc dont match..  I just dont know.

              It looks like some kind of Afra to me.

                After a little looking around I'd say it's a regular Hongi, not a Red Top Kimpuma like the others you have.

                    Yeah I would love to have some more.   Maybe we could do some trades.  I REALLY LOVE the color of the one that is "different" and Steve yes I believe they are part of the group you gave me.   Thank you both for setting me straight :)

                        If I come over I am going to run to Mike's first and pick up Steve's buckets and leave them with you.  I am not going to lose anymore buckets...
                        PS -- talked to Mike.. he said he has them -- like we had agreed on. :) :) :) :) :)

                        Are you coming to the GHAC meeting on Friday ?  Maybe we can make an exchange there :)

                            if you want these 2 i have zu i'll be glad to fish them out of the tank and bring them to the meeting for you......just make sure you have transport for them....i'll bring them in my bucket....but i'm taking my bucket back with me.....

                            and as Steve stated....good lord willing we'll be there.....
