  • Bolivians laid eggs

After thinking for months that I have a same sex pair from Fish Gallery, my two little Bolivians spawned Saturday night! Momma is diligently watching her little eggs and not allowing anyone to get close. She's even keeping dad about a ft. away. So far all of the eggs have kept a some what golden color. She put some sand on them and to my surprise allowed me to move some plants very close to her little rock where her eggs are neatly laid. Considering this is her first spawn I'm extremely impressed with her dedication and caring. Now lets hope they hatch and don't get eaten. From what I've read they should start hatching tomorrow.

I can't even speculate how many hours I've sat watched my little momma. I had read on a cichlid forum about Bolivians covering their eggs in sand for a day or so. Momma has dropped and onto her eggs. So fascinating to watch this. I'll be going nuts at work tomorrow wondering what's going on.
