  • Eheim 2213 for beginner AC 55 gal tank

    Folks running a 2213 in a 55 gal long tank with 8 AC's from 2-4" in size. Parrot/red jewel/yellow lab
Water looks great and keeping up with weekly water changes. Is the 2213 to small of a filter? Should I switch out to a 2217 sooner than later? Can I wait till payday? 2213 looks to be rated for a 55 gal but what I'm reading the flow needs to be 8 x volume of water per hr. The 2217 won't even handle that though. Please explain..

Sounds like you have enough filtration if the water is clean. It doesn't hurt to upgrade though (well it hurts your wallet off course).

you can probably run the 2213 for a while but i would still look into ether getting another one or a 2217 for more filtration area. the more you over filter the better imo.
