  • Tanganyika's together ?

I am wanting to make some changes to my tank setups and I am looking for some advice.

I have currently have a 58g with ~20 Neolamprologus brichardi (Princess of Burundi)+ton of babies, 7 Neolamprologus Leleupi (lemon cichlid) +~15 babies, 8 Juli. marlieri, 2 common Pleco's 1 Synodontis decorus.  They are happy right now but they are starting to grow to many and not enough space.

I am wanting to change my 75 setup here in a few months (going to be looking to buy a 90 in a few months to replace the 75) and with the 75 I am seriously thinking about turning it into the tank the 58g is right now, but also adding about 10 gold occelatus..  Obviously have the bottom covered in many shells for them to hide in etc... but what I am looking for is would this be feasible and would there be a problem that anyone could think of.  The other option I was thinking about was yanking everyone but Julie's out of the 58 and putting the occies into the 58 with the julie's but right now they (the brichardi, leleupi and julies seems to be somewhat happy with each other.. just running out of space)

    Advice ???  Please....

I think the Julies will pull the shellies out of their shells.

It depends. I know people that have them together. Occies are more aggressive than Brevis, IMO. You'd probably want to add them first to get established if you plan on doing it.

This is what happens when you mess with an occie's (not Aussie's) home.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I agree with armthehomeless.....Occies will almost fight anything.  Putting them in first will also help the occies feel comfortable and establish their boundaries. Nothing is a for sure....a lot of fishes just have their own little personalities.  Try it and keep us updated.
