what kind of fish you guys think I can add to the tank ? I like cyps but will they be okay in that 20gal ?
also, I'm using playsand substrate in there. is there any kinda of plants i can stick in there ?

any help would be great, i know nothing about cyps and plants

you may be able to get away with a small group of fry since you've got so much length with that tank. i had a group of cyp fry in a 10 gallon for a month or so and they eventually killed themselves off. i was left with 2 from the group i started with.

what about some leleupi's?

Leleupi's will pull females from the shells.

Well....thanks for kicking my little 10 gallon Shellie habitat in the teeth....LOL!!!!  That is one awesome tank to say the least, you aquascaping is really nice.  The dimensions on that tank are perfect!!!!

Those shellies will be swimming around and not hiding out in the shells in no time at all.  They are used to having other fish (angels in particular) in there with them.  I'm sure they wouldn't mind some neons or something like that who wouldn't necessarily bother their homes.  I'm sure someone can either or agree or correct me....but these fish in particular were only semi aggressive if/when someone invaded their space....their breeding shell in particular.

Going out on a limb but I'm pretty sure you could put anything that wouldn't invade territory in with them.  Grant it, it might not be the Tang purist thing to do...  But in the end, it's your tank to enjoy.

I am so jealous right now!!  I am patiently waiting on dedicating a tank to some shellies and yours looks awesome!  Good luck with them.
