It could have something to do with the way he was caught unless he was tank bred and raised. Although I did have a pair of rams (tank raised) that just started spazing out, going in circles then did a nose dive into the substrate and died. Kind of looked like a heart attack. It just happened that I was there to see it. The other four rams (all purchased at the same time from the same person) are fine and never showed any signs. This happened about 4 months ago. The two rams died about two weeks apart. The spazing lasted about 10 minutes then they just floated up to the top. No signs of illness, stress, or aggression before that. If I had to guess I would say that could have been what happened to your fishy. It was just some sort of freak thing. I also read on another forum that this lady had 6 of the same fish (can't remember what type) and within a few weeks the same thing happened to all six of hers. I think her's were wild caught. They think it had something to do with catching them with cyanide. But that's a different story. So sorry to hear about your fishy. :(
