    I stripped my black moba momma this evening and got 26 egg-bound wigglers!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They are in my tumbler.

    I have 29 F1's in a floating nursery that are almost hitting 1" now.  I have 15 spoken for.

    I have another 3 in another floating nursery that are at 1.5" now.  Here are some pics.









    180g Oceanic w/colony of 8 WC Moba Fronts (1m/7f) purchased from TNT Cichlids in Jan '05 & numerous fry. 1 F1 adult moba male. 2 2217 Eheims, 2 6080 Tunze Streams, WISA airpump, single stage Johnson ETC.....fishkeeping since 1988.

    sweet! she always product that much fry for you? 26 is a lot to hold in....

      MJ....if you have ever seen RonR's Mobas in person then you would see how 26 is not much of a feat.

            Wonder if all 26 would make it if you let her hold them to full term.  Have you ever done that Ron? I'm sure that would be a month full.

                I used to let my mommas hold 28 days and then would strip since I keep all my fishkeeping to a 180g tank.  The little ones would never survive if released into the general population.  Then I started letting them hold to 20-21 days and that was okay, but momma not eating for 3 weeks I'd start to see a sunken stomach. :(

                When I strip at 10 days the little egg-bound wigglers are pretty healthy and I don't have to worry about unfertilized eggs............momma takes care of that.
