I finally got the time to continue setting up the 210. Fisrt I added some Leslie's Pool Sand (125 lbs of it)


Then I drug some of the rocks that I got back from when I went with Geoff_Tropheus to central Texas out of the garage and up to the second story.



Then I filled it with water. I let the aquatium sit for a little bit and then hooked up my Fluval FX5. Once that was running, I added my Rena XP3 that had been running on my holding tank. Shortly after that, I added some fish.

Here is what I added:
- Cyprichromis leptosoma  "Jumbo Blue Orchid"
- Ectodus Descampsii
- Benthochromis tricoti
- a single Neolamprologus brichardi (so it doesn't breed)

I had heard that the Benthochromis would have trouble breeding if they were in a tank with something as active as Cyps, but figured that I had a while to wait before worrying about that. None of my Benthochromis have started to color up. Right now they just look like expensive giant danios!

To my amazement, overnight one of the Benthos dug a HUGE sand pit. Maybe I don't have so long to wait, after all!

Tell us when you have confirmed bedroom activity by your Benthos.. just wondering how long it will be before they give you some more kids to look at :)

geoff..  ALL I am going to attest to is that the stand is one heavy stand....  Raul and I can attest to that when we moved it the first time for Mr Bell.

I have no idea who built the stand. I bought it used. I wish I did know, so I could ask them to build a matching canopy. It is a 7' x 2' x 2' tank.

Thanks finfan. I really doesn't require that much money if you play your cards right. Sitting on craigslist can pay off! I got a gool deal on this tank from Charles at his store in Rosenberg  8)
