Cool, if you ever find the need to rid this colony of cyps, keep my name in mind.

              Current inhabitants include:

              Ectodus descampsii
              Benthochromis tricoti
              Cyprichromis leptosoma "Jumbo Blue Orchid"
              Paracyprichromis nigripinnis
and a lone male Brichardi and lone male Opth. ventralis.

I've run into a problem. The ventralis - who is a recent addition to the tank, has decided that he owns the left hand side of the tank. In doing this he has disrupted breeding behavior for the other fish. Any ideas to get rid of the problem? I'm already thinking about what tank I can move him to.

I'm also thinking about moving the Paracyps to another tank with young Telematochromis temporalis, Julidochromis transcriptus fry, Eretmodus Cyanosticus fry, and ABN fry. I don't want to have to go fishing in this big tank more than once though.

I'm planning on leaving the lone brichardi in the tank. I figured if I don't have a colony, then he will be relatively docile. So far I am correct. What would y'all do... keep him in there? Move him somewhere else? Give him back to CichlidFan?

Hehe... I don't think I would be too happy. I've got other brichardi in a 30L. Just put 'em in there.

I can fix your ventralis problem.  Just relocate into one of my tanks.  I have a 29g setup and running for him...

I watched one of my male Ectodus build this last night...

I'm going to relocate a couple of fish from the tank and remove the rockwork from one side to help encourage this behavior. :)

Man I kinda miss the Ectodus.

Just goes to show you what a difference a fish is in its own element.

They did not go to well with no substrate and a tank full of PEtros and Trophs.

Any Ectodus females in the nest?

Any visual signs of sexing them?

It is kinda difficult on sexing the Ectodus, but I have learned that the males tend to have larger "dots" that get really dark when they are in the mood. When the males aren't in mating dress, I have trouble telling which is which.

I didn't notice any females in the nest. :? I'm getting the romance music out...
