they are always fighting

So here's my problem. I have a 100 gallon tank full of misc. Cichlids mostly peacocks and they arwe always fighting I had it pretty wide open for a while with nowhere for them to hide but recently added a bunch of holy rock and large stones to give them places to hide. It has helped a little but a lot of them are still getting picked on. Any advice?

how many fish do you have in there total? which species are fighting? a little more info could help you get a better diagnostic to your problem.

If you just added the rock then what you have done is given them territory to claim.....it will either be that the one's picked on will realize that it can no longer roam free or be killed.

More than none its the peacocks and the geophagus's the geos have nipped fins and so does my chocolate cichlid its a 100 gallon with 30 fish or so including 3 bottom feeders 3 plecos and an eel all of which arenot gettin picked on

I would have....but seeing that it's the peacocks picking on the SA's.....not my mix of choice. SA's are either stoopid aggressive or pansies.

My question is how a 9" geo is getting picked on by 4" peacocks

The geos' I had where like that too....they are not fighters, by nature they are more docile and non aggressive, almost the opposite of peacocks....

That's like wondering why a 10" goldfish keeps getting chunks bitten out of him by 4" flowerhorn.

geo are like soft want-to-be cichlids.  those peacocks are going to pick on them.  I don't think the geos will die from it or anything. Then again, I can't speak from experience.  I have never kept such a wonderful mix of fishes.
