What are the most sought after frontosa types?  I have been trying to compare and look at frontosa as I just sold my burundi colony and am wanting to put my money back into a more exotic expensive type of front.   From what I see I like the Mpimbwe and Moba best.   Whats the differences between the 2?  Which is generally more expensive?  Either one easier to breed?  Any size or coloration differences?  Ive been reading but just wanted to some input from people who actually have them or see them live and in person more often.  Thanks

    Re: Frontosa

Zaires are most sought after.....Moba/Kitumba/Kapampa/whatever other new one they got.
Mpimbwe are said to be the most docile making them almost as popular.

Zaires will be much more expensive then Mpimbwe
With the prices the way they are anyone with Zaires will strip their holding mothers so there is no telling which is easier to breed.

      Re: Frontosa

I'm glad you mentioned stripping the fry b/c doing that is retarded. do it right do it the natural and don't screw over your buyers ,if they want to breed in the future there fish will be swallowing all thier fry. Oh yeah... go with the Zaire as 1st pick Moba 2nd. although i do love the yellow of the burundi's

As for the yellow.....I would go with Ikola if the yellow fin attracts you, a bit less common then Burundi.

            Re: Frontosa

How about fins?  From my observations the mpimbwe seem to have longer trailers and just prettier finnage.  I have just started looking though so that might not always be the case.  Any thoughts? Which has the best color?

+1 for Mpimbwes. They've always been my favorite...they just have this beautiful iridescent blueish-purplish hue throughout their whole body. Shoulda kept my colony... :?

So far mpimbwes and mobas look to be the most popular.  Those are also the 2 that I was looking at the most.   I just sold my burundi colony and am looking at getting into one of these 2 types.   Anyone have any or know of any breeding size fish of these 2 type?  Preferably Id like to have them bigger and or breeding already but if I cant find what im looking for I will go for smaller fronts, so also anywhere to get the younger mpimbwes and mobas?

look that s my opinion on the matter this is a long running debate so i dont expect everyone to agree with me. but how can you say they wont eat the eggs if you dont let them hold the full term
