Anyone keeping xeno's? Tim?

Wanting to buy something to satisfy the itch and think xenos would be something cool to try. Anyone have any pictures, advice, or experiences to share?

J-WS6 has some nice Enantiopus. Those are essentially xenos.

They need plenty of open space on the ground and mellow tankmates.

I think space isn't gonna be much of a problem....

Mellow tankmates might be a problem.

J....gonna dig through some threads and google to see what turns up.

You still down for the order Tim? Did you ask if the fish you wanted are available? Friend said whenever you ready he is.

J-WS6 actually does have Xenos. Enantiopus has been going though my head alot lately for some reason...

neat fish

1.spilopterus-had a group of 8 i grew out.they had low agression level.got about 150 fry over a 3 year period.think i have 2 grown out fry left.
2.papilio sunflower tembwe.expensive.one of the prettiest fish i've ever kept.got lucky with these,picked a compatible pair out of a group of 12 alex had.spawned maybe 6 times.got 3 fry 1 time.can be very aggressive toward each other.
3.papilio sunflower chituta.expensive.had a group of 12 for about 2 years(dont ask).they actually got along pretty good.would spawn every 2 months or so but never carried more than 3 days.got so frustrated i gave up and gave them to rare dave.
4.flavipinnis-have had 2 groups,1 time 4,1 time 7.once in a 55,the other in a 70.both times the dominate male killed the others within 2 months.a real heartbreaker.

xenos are really neat.i would suggest at least a 70 and as many fish as you can find.if you can find a group that gets along,to me thats 90% of the battle.good luck.

I'm looking at the Xenotilapia ornatipinnis......It will be an impulse buy though since someone else is making an order so I get cheap shipping....they will be going into a 5ft tank with all my Ilangi fry.
