      Re: changing area

You stated that you are leaning towards moori. Are you talking about tropheus or malawi cichlids? I assume you are talking about tropheus since you referred to "colony" fish. Just wanted to clarify...
      Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I think colony and moorii can go both ways.....

We have a troph & petrochromis club here as well as a sub-forum with some good knowledgeable members.
Also the best information I have found on Trophs have been through Google, cichlid-forum.com and tropheusfanatics.invisionzone.com

                Thanks man!

IMO, for a 90 I would shoot for about 20 adults but make sure filtration and maintenance is kept up to speed for the fish.

                    Re: changing area

IMO, a single xp3 is very low filtration for a 90g filled with tropheus.

I would look into adding another xp3 at least.

and be sure to let the maid know of your suspecions and or concerns with regards to her cleaning around your tank.

                              90g 4 footer?

start with 30-35 fry (if you are getting fry).

                              ideal would be 20-25 adults.

filtration should be around 10x your tank size. which means about 900ghp through some kind of filters.  Wet/dry would be best.

good luck with keeping tropheus.....the addiction starts now.
I ate my fish that died.
