Re: changing area
You stated that you are leaning towards moori. Are you talking about tropheus or malawi cichlids? I assume you are talking about tropheus since you referred to "colony" fish. Just wanted to clarify...Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Re: changing area
I think colony and moorii can go both ways.....
We have a troph & petrochromis club here as well as a sub-forum with some good knowledgeable members.
Also the best information I have found on Trophs have been through Google, cichlid-forum.com and tropheusfanatics.invisionzone.com700g Mini-Monster tank

Re: changing area
90g 4 footer?
start with 30-35 fry (if you are getting fry).
ideal would be 20-25 adults.
filtration should be around 10x your tank size. which means about 900ghp through some kind of filters. Wet/dry would be best.
good luck with keeping tropheus.....the addiction starts now.I ate my fish that died.
