My Cyps...

I bought some time ago some really nice cyps..

I wanted to post some pictures..  Right now they are in a holding tank while I get the correct tank for them (a 110G) where they are going to live with my julies, leleupi, brichardi and gold ocellatus.

I am only posting my dominate male..  Once the correct tank is up and running.. i will post more pictures :)

After taking these pictures tonight I was able to go though the whole Cyps leptosoma catalog and there is no doubt these are Cyprichromis leptosoma (Mpulungu)

I bought them from Tattoo... he had them on sale here.
I dont recall if they where WC -- I know I got 2m/6f adults and 5 children from him in the sale.  They are absolutely awesome.  I love the colors and I love the fact that they do what the book says "the male is always in the mood" and will attempt constantly to entice a female.  The tank they are in is only a 58 which they share with 14 duboisi 2-2.5" just now turning over their stripe.  As soon as the 110 is up and running etc.. I am going to move them into that tank.  I am hoping that this will happen within the month or a little more.  (Think middle of November)

I hope Tattoo can remind me if they are WC or not...

When I first looked at cyps over at Tim's house I always though wow how can you give up trophs for cyps... now that I have cyps I realize how much I want to have a tank full one of these days.

When I get tired of the leleupi, Brichardi and Julie's I am thinking I am going to increase the number of cyps and see if I can get like a colony of like 30 cyps into a 110....  

Dont look for this to happen any time soon :)  and NO IM NOT SELLING MY CYPS !!!!

f1s, and f2s and really killer looking fish hated to sell but they were keeping my benthochromis tricoti from roaming the tank.....and know i am keeping cyps blue orchids and i really like them also.... i am glad jesper that they are doing good

I didnt recall so your answer helps :)
I love them.  One male has for sure made it his life long dream to attempt to make out with every female cyp in the tank.  
They have yet to hold for me, but they are in a small tank and I cannot wait for them to go into the 110 when I have it up and running here in a few weeks. :)

i have 5 males and 4 females... breeding activity is up and running however i have not seen any of the females holding.... alpha male sturts around tank all day long arching back and opening mouth really cool fish....
