Which one should I get ?
Mom's Malawi tank in Lake Jackson is up and running, but doing several pH reading on both her tap water and tank water and I am getting about a pH 7.0-7.2.  I was thinking that I might want to increase the pH a little more towards an 8.0 or there abouts.

I am looking right now at Seachem Malawi buffer and Kent Marine Malawi buffer.. anyone have a good advice on it ?

PS.  She has one Electric Blue holding right now and two yellow labs holding.. they have been in her new tank for about 3 weeks or a little more today.
Did a nice 50% water change on her tank while I was down there.  Cleaned out as much gunk as I could from her tank to make sure that as much as possible was clean.   Fixed a few minor problems..  After seeing how her ATO was keeping the water nice and even in her sump after 3 weeks, I am starting to think I need to get one setup in my new 110 when I get it.  Maybe I will ask for one for Christmas :)

Auto Top Off.... you can piece them together fairly cheap.

Or get one off auto-topoff.com they are a sponsor  on marshreef.com.

Fshfrk, I'm sure you could come up with a super nice design....

        Why not use Baking Soda?

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

          Re: Malawi buffer

          I dont know what I should use.. this is why I am asking :) :) :) :)

I was hoping by using some of the chemistry out there to add the needed salts etc at the same time which is why I am asking about the different products.  I am going back in about two weeks time to bring my complete test kit down there and look at the other properties of the tank including gh/kh and see what it looks like.

Tim thank you for the link.  I am reading up on the more exact things that should be used down there.

          Thanks :)

            Re: Malawi buffer

baking soda, marine salt, and epsom salt should be enough to get it where it's not so low... but honestly if it's only the electric blue and labs I think they might be use to it already from the LFS?

              Re: Malawi buffer

They where originally my fish (sold mom the tank) and they where in Houston harder water etc...   The water in Lake Jackson is much more neutral, which I didnt know because I know I must have SHOCKED the **** out of them (from the looks of it they lost about 1 pH doing down there (where in 8 now in just over 7).
I would like to up it a little to bring them back to where they need to be.  Obviously it has not stopped them from breeding because like I said, two yellows are holding and one electric blue is holding.

I am just mainly worried that the buffer is low and when doing water changes I am going to be shocking them more.. which is why I want to add more buffer and up the water parameters a little more :)
