Re: Troph not eating
I'm no troph expert by any means, but I might hold off on a feeding or two, and then see if they feel like eating when you do feed again...??
CFTruth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.

Re: Troph not eating
Are you trying to feed them the same stuff they were eating before (spirulina)?Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Re: Troph not eating
Have you tried feeding what they were on? Probably doesn't matter cause I haven't seen not one healthy troph mouth just about anything.
Hanging at the top sounds like either aggression keeping them up top, poor oxygenation, poor water quality(increase in bio-load) or sick.
There are several things you can try.
50%+ water change and refill with good water and use 1tbsp epsom salt/5g of water.
Metronidazole 5-7days with 50%+ water change between each day/dose.
Clout 4-5days with 50%+ water change between each day/dose.
Increase temps to about 80-82 gradually with any of the above and dose epsom along with meds. I personally would do the treatments in the above order but have never needed to resort to clout.
Metronidazole can be sourced in several meds...
-metronidazole tabs (used myself)
-metronidazole powder (used myself)
-Jungle parasite clear
-Jungle Hole-N-head guard
-API General Cure (used this and kinda like it)700g Mini-Monster tank

Re: Troph not eating
And if you have a hard time getting the meds, you can definitely get started with the water changes and epson salt. Â Then add the meds to the routine when you get them. Our Fishhouse

Re: Troph not eating
I'm putting money on aggression issues as well.... what precautions did you take to prepare for these new fish?
Do you have these new fish in quarantine?
Remove the rocks?
Change them around?
Lights out?
No foods when they came in?
Aggression causes stress and stress causes the bacteria to flourish.
Having meds on hand is always recommended.700g Mini-Monster tank
