i need some advice on starting it.
What kind of substrate is best? sand is nice but either will work.
Should i use a bunch of holy rock or plants or BOTH? you could do both but plants will suffer without proper husbandry and that will be make the environment less appropiate for the fronts.
what kind of food is best? varied diet is good for these carnivores...I made a shrimp mix for mine along with NewLifeSpectrum.
How many Fronts can i put into a 55g tank? maybe 1
Do you have small to medium Fronts that you want to sell? check with fish ranch in rosenburg, charles had mobas for dirt cheap. Also start a want to buy thread.
Any advice is appreciated.700g Mini-Monster tank

Re: I'm starting a Frontosa colony with a 55g tank....
In M/O a 55 gal. tank is only going to give you a short period of time before the Frontosa are going to out grow it. This depends on how many you intend putting in the tank. If you start with fry, you will be fine for a while. As far as substrate I use swimming pool filter sand. I also use dolamite. As far as the holy rock goes a lot of people use it, but some of this type of rock can have sharpe edges and when the fish flashes or is spooked they will run into it and get cut. I feed New Life Spectrum, it works for me. Do not feed anything that floats. I also give them a little shrimp for a treat. Last be not least I have Burundi F1, both fry and juvies for sale. Good luck, hope you enjoy the Frontosa as much as I do.300 W/C Burundi

I have 8 mobas in an 300, and that is starting to look small. IF you plans are only to house them in an 90 gallon, you might as well save your money and try another specie of fish. Fronts get big man, and they will tear each other apart if the housing is too small.
Hey Mikeb, you interested in 2 more F1 mpimbwe, I have two for sale. Will cut you an amazing deal.oh that........ thats just my 300 gallon fish tank, nothing fancy.
