Does anyone know what trace elements are found in lake tang and what are the trace elements coming out of our tap? Or any good links to read about any of these two question would be great. Thanks in advance.

Re: Trace elements found in lake tang and our tap?
Hey.... weren't you the one preaching to all those that asked about supplements that... correct me if I'm wrong... "Houston water and Prime is all you need".
Trace/Minerals/Vitamins/etc. is hard to gauge since not many will test for it on a scientific level for the simple use of fish keeping. Now even if you had a list to compare the two you would then need to get in what amounts and in what amounts is used by our fish.
Now there are books and articles that if all put together you can get a summarization of the majority of what is found in the lake through different inserts from different articles (at least that is what I have done seeing as though there isn't anything that cleary points out this and that). There are some in the books which you can go by and some online but honestly it will be difficult to take anything from what you get and apply it to your tank since a lot of things that go on in the tank will change how it all works.
There are some Trace/Minerals that only stay usable to fish/plants for a certain length of time when added manually by the hobbyist to try and replicate that of what is needed and then there are others that will bind to each other and become unusable.
I don't test on any level and just gauge by how my fish looked whatever length of time after I have used the product compared to before... I take lots of pictures to help, also log what I change as far as routine, feeding, supplements, maintenance, etc.700g Mini-Monster tank

It's ok to change a position or an idea after leaning something new. I think it's called adaptation, but I'm not sure.
Actually, to think about it weren't you the one that told me "don't feed trophs too much cause NLS packs a big punch they are going to get bloat. however, now all you do is preach about how you feed your fishes all day.
It's cool dude. You learned something new (I could feed more than before) and you started doing it (adaptation).
So, know my questions are about trace elements. Kent and Brightwell provide products that add trace to the water which is "said" to be trace elements found in lake tang. However, after reviewing the products label......the trace found in each bottle was surprising not the same. There were a few that were the same but for most part they were different.
These difference sparked my interest. Just wanted to ask about question that I didn't have answer too cause I'm just a noob when it come to chemistry.I ate my fish that died.

I preach that to newbs cause I hate reading about NLS causing bloat when we all know it's poor husbandry before the NLS comes into play also hate reading how some newbs that did not "think" they needed to research before jumping in head first kill off a whole colony of trophs. .... sometimes you have to leave out the details and keep it simple for them to keep them from hurting themselves. I did the same for you but we now see that it did not help cause you saw how I did mine and tried to "adapt" it to your own and now we are at were we are at... you needing more fry from me
For the record... I don't think you ever came close to what I was feeding any of my fish... I think you were on the small containers of NLS for the longest while I was going through 5lb tubs...
With the differences.... why don't you try it and report back to us what you find.700g Mini-Monster tank

Jokes aside, what keeps me going in the hobby is learning about the biology aspect of it. Just wanted to do some reading on the minerals in the lake. I might get Kent's product just to try it out. If there's no changes I'll try the brightwell stuff....
I have a feeling they are both bull$hit.I ate my fish that died.

Your feeling might be right but I went with the better bull****ter of the two...
There are lots of articles about the properties of Lake Tanganyika... I have read through quite a few and if I found them I am sure you could too. I saved it all on the computey but that POS crashed.700g Mini-Monster tank

Hey I got an idea. Just take a quick flight over there and fill up your bags with water, then bring 'em back for a water change. Then repeat as neccessary. :smokin:
