So far so good, though :)

Those are both very nice looking cichlids.....should be called rainbows in my opinion.....how easy are they to get Charles?

You can often pick up some pretty cool Vics at the HCCC auction. The next one is now set for Sunday, February 8th. You'd be welcome to ride along with me.

Not Charles, but it's Hill Country Cichlid Club,  here's a link to their site:

              HCCC

The auction is going to be in SA.

                    Re: Prettiest cichlids?

Wow a lot of awesome ideas guys thanks. I didn't expect a ton of responses. I like the Red Germans and Demasoni a lot I think they would fit with my tank. What's up with the blood parrot hate! Mine are pretty boring actually, hide in caves all day and then come out and eat and swim around when you aren't looking, but as soon as you go by the tank they hide again. Charles, those are awesome looking fish. I'll have to check out the HCCC i'm not familiar, due to my newness to the hobby.

                      Re: Prettiest cichlids?

Fish Gallery on Kirby have some really nice Germans but they are a little pricey.  I have been looking for nice Demasoni for months now and all i find are babies.  and they are usually overpriced as well.  parrots are a man made fish and its cruel as (blank) to keep them. IMO.  read up on how they actually came up with a Blood Parrot and i promise you'll feel sorry for your guys.  just an opinion.

There was a user here a while back that had some demasonis for sale, maybe you can do a search to see if you can find his post. I sold the breeding pair I had.

i understand they are man made, but if they're made and i take them and take care of them, why is that cruel? i understand your perspective completely, but if they already exist in large quantity, and i treat them good, i dont know really think thats cruel.
