Prettiest cichlids?

I started my 55g tank only less than a month ago and i love african cichlids. I was curious for some of the more knowledgeable folk, what are some of the prettiest/brightest cichlids? the brightest I have so far and bright orange blood parrots, but my understanding is a lot of them get stained. Is there a lot of naturally bright/pretty fish? I like the blue cobalts but while I was at a couple stores gandering fish I was curious if there are more, even brighter?

She's biased  those will get too big for a 55 as will most cichlids.

Get the whole line up of dyed parrots!

blue, green, pink, orange, red, purple, I <3 U and the one's with american flags on them!

go with african peacocks. a lot more color in my opinion. a German Red and a Lemon Jake are two good examples.

It's hard to beat a good colony of Demasoni.

I agree with fishboyt. Yellow labs can be very bright.

It's hard to beat a good colony of Demasoni.

Any colony of mbuna is kind of cool. Just get like 20-25 and stuff them in the 55g.

I thought Parrots were a man made hybrid from SA Cichlids, I think in the original post akfa is looking for African cichlids.  Not that I would ever recommend buying Parrots, regardless of their origin.

Peacocks and Haps have some cool colors. Depending on colors but yellows the Lemon Jakes, Sunshine peacocks, and Bi-Color 500 are all beautiful yellows with blues in them. Reds you can go with German Reds, Super Red Impress. And in the full blues the Electric blue Ahli are my favorite. But I am biased since I had all of these in my Malawi tank before I sold them. But I would go to the cichlid-forum.com profiles and find the ones that tickle your fancy until HFB gets a profile section

I thought Parrots were a man made hybrid from SA Cichlids, I think in the original post akfa is looking for African cichlids.  Not that I would ever recommend buying Parrots, regardless of their origin.

Hybrid fish need love too! It's not their fault they are. 8)

No offense but Parrot fish are ugly. Hybrids can be cool if it is natural. Like I had some hybrids in my tank and they came out looking cool.
