That is one of the great things about cyps... the males show off constantly. Don't worry if there aren't any females holding yet, it takes a while sometimes for everyone to settle in. Are your females mature? I've noticed in my cyps that the males seem to hit sexual maturity before female. (only MY observation - I've got nothing to back it up).

Give it time... the babies will come.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I got the cyps from Tattoo and they are with 5 of their own offspring and another about 5 of jughead's off spring.. I know the juvi's are not old enough, but the adults are for sure :)  They have had about a month now to settle in their new big tank, and my leleupi have already shown me they know how to get the process taken care of...  there is a TON of little leleupi fry running around their mom right now..  (first day of swimming around)

yeah he's cyps are doing really good! The colors are starting to come in really nice.  A lot of breeding action from the time I seen them last.

Colored up real well... I was over there the other day and there was definitely one holding.

Took him over to ADG today to check out their featherfin tank.

After I moved them from the 58 to the 110 they colored up 100 times more than they where in the 58.. in the 58 they looked pale compared to now.
My males look beautiful..  two of the 5 juvi's I got from Tattoo have started to show their male colors too :)  They look so cute... I need to take a picture soon :)

yeah they really need that room. The smallest tank I would keep them in is a 75g. But a 125g and up would be the best.

Just wait. My males were flashing/shaking by females for weeks before they all settled in. They have spawned multiple times, but only spit twice, both times the calvus managed to eat them all.

phan has the same problem. He got two WC black calvus just like you.  There are other fishes breeding in the tank already and I'm sure it was the calvus that got to them.  :?

This is one of the reasons I decided that I was not going to keep calvus in my tank..  :)
If I did I would have no babies at all...    Now I am not looking to breed massive amounts in my tank, but I have a feeling I will be pulling Leleupi babies from my tank at least once every about 4 months.. hehe :)

yeah calvus are cool like in a display tank. But not in a tank where you are trying to have fry.

I've had like 6 different ones and always end up selling them cause they eat all the smaller fishes.
