I GOT ILANGI

i finally got ilangi and will post some pics soon
there are 18 F1's 10 are about 1.5 inches the other 8 are 3/4 inches
i have put a nice amount of epson and regular aquarium salt and they are looking good and im getting them started on the NLS cichlid formula any tips i should definatly know about?

Religious water changes.. they love the clear water...  I follow the EK water replacement system with mine.. every 2 (yes I know I am bad) I remove 90+ % of the water in my tank.. and they love it.

good looking fish. what kind of lights are you using looks kind of washed out or maybe its just the camera.

well first they are small the largest is prob 1 1/2 in 2nd its a crap camera for the application. i have on there 4 65 watt PC's 2 are jus sraight 10000k and the the oter 2 are 10,000/6500k they bulbs are prob getting weak. whats your opinion on the lights?

I like your setup. I am going to try my hand at ilangi in about 2 months and I was wondering which tank setup would be better for them: Just having two large rock piles on either side of the tank with the middle of the tank open for swimming, OR have a bunch of hiding places throughout the tank like schance has. I have read online and have gotten mixed responses

You got mixed responses cause it can work either way..... it's really up to the fish.

You could try and help persuade them by either good sex ratio or other means to occupy the aggression.

Nice looking group you got there schance, hard to tell by the pictures but those yellow stripes on the face stand out as much as they show in the pictures?
