  • Tropheus Kiku

After a short delay I have gotten my beauties home !!!
Right now I they are in my 70g 3ft tank temporary and VERY nice about living there. (which is incredibly strange, since there is 9 fish in this tank)

I am in current negotiations to get a large 6ft tank installed and setup in that 6ft space that the 3ft tank sits in right now. As soon as that deal has gone through, and the extra parts needed are bought, the Tropheus Kiku are going to move in there. Then I will be attempting to get more females as my current colony is a little one sided in the WRONG direction.

As promised pictures are needed. I need to get better lens for this because I think these pictures suck. But here they are.

They are so good looking.. what you think ?

    Here is a second picture

This is a measured 6+ inch male. He is absolutely georgeous.

Can you believe there is only 1 guaranteed girl in that bunch

So far so good... Sometime this weekend I am going to have to do a little rock work rearrangement... The alpha (6+) male has staked out the right hand rock pile.. and has started to dig like as if he is in the sewer pipe laying business.. He has REALLY moved a TON of sand around... and I am afraid that the stack of rocks I made is not nearly stable enough for his work.... who knows... maybe soon I will have a single female holding.. I have already seen signs of him courting (whom I expect to be the lone female) in the tank.
They are all eating well (1mm sinking NLS pellets).
I am working hard on getting another tank -- (Feb 27th is when I expect my tax income check to come in) and then I will have cash in hand to get a tank.
Wet/dry setup etc.. I will have to get a ton of work to setup the tank -- I will have to build the cabinet (its a in the wall setup) first and set it up and then I will have time for the tank to be moved into place etc...

I cannot wait to have something bigger up and running soon.. they need the running space. I was really afraid of massive fights in this small of a tank, but because there are so many males in there (believe it or not) I am thinking that Alpha is not interested in fighting because he knows he is alpha and he is not being challenged.. Geoff.. that guy is huge.... still only a Tiny Jr, but he is so beautiful !!

He is a monster, but purrs like a kitten.

See they've had all this pinned up digging agression because of life in bare-bottom tanks. Now they're getting it all out and diggin to China.

See he hates the sand, and wants to see glass.

Remember what I told you I would do for you.
