Plants for a troph tank?

what kind of plants could survive the hard water, high ph of a troph tank also with a wattage of around 2.5 wpg?

my guys have destroyed most plants when I put them in there. Which ever plant you choose, know that they may eat them or tear them up.

not planning on putting it in the tank but in a kind of refugium.

If you plan on making a true refugium then I would use something fast growing like wisteria or anacharis.... also once the plants suffocate their living space pruning most of it and removing it from the fuge would also act as a nutrient export.

how do you have yours plumbed ek? is it hooked up to the mag12 or what?

I am using only mangroves which do not shed leaves like an aquatic plant would so I didn't take any extra steps other then a basket to house the submerged part. I did plan on having two shallow tanks made with rear overflow to place on two matching stands to match my tank stand so that I could have two display fuges with the mangroves growing but got lazy for one and an upgrade should be coming soon.

If I were to use a planted refugium I would want for it to be a seperate tank but shared the same sump. So the tank would be on it's own above sump level and overflowed into the wet/dry with it's own return pump.

well, i was planning on putting a 10g in line with my wet dry but just not sure how i want to do it yet

Get one custom made by Ocean Atlantis.... either fish ranch can get this done for you. Get it made in slightly thicker glass and sideways.

Then just drill it and use a small pump to pump up to the 10g...
