if it were a komodo dragon I'd truly be scared to hold it I've heard that they are poisonous? also he should add better lighting it might make its colors pop out more and give him a pond not some 30 gallon tank

Nah not poisonous it's just it's saliva is chalked full of nasty bacteria that even if it didn't kill you the bacteria infection would and then it will follow you and eat you then.
