The day we lost all the posts I had a post asking about plecos fighting. My husband had bought me a pair, since I lost all my Otos, and they were doing some weird things swimming all over each other, biting/sucking on each other - it looked very violent. I was advised that they did fight, so that is probably what happened.
Well, they had just gotten too darn big for my liking and they had the clown loaches scared to death, so I decided to take them back. I have had them a month and they have almost tripled in size (I named them Godzilla and King Kong.) When I took them back - lo and behold Godzilla was pregnant! She showed me her belly and how round it was - I thought she was just eating well. When I told her about the fighting she laughed at me and said they were mating!
I'm glad I took them back - I sure don't want a bunch of baby monsters in the tank!
I almost took the to the LHA safari so someone could catch them!
Too bad that didn't go better.
