  • disapear pleco

    so, i just got my new hifin spotted pleco and i went to feed it but it was not there so i thought it was just in my holy rock so the next and next etc days i looked and still its not there .what should i do??:furious::furious::furious:

    they are good hiders. i see mine rarely. try turning most of the lights out. mine play in the dark

      i have a little bushynose that i cant never find,and when i give up looking he will appear out of no where...very good hiders!!!

        I believe these are diggers like most plecos. It probably buried itself under a rock and is hiding. You can either pull up all your rocks to find him or wait till night time and he will come out looking for food so get a flashlight and look around.

          I have a rather larger one (~ 5") that is very stealthy.

          During feeding in my community tank, some of my fish take a while to realize it is time to eat. The big eaters used to horde all of the food during the first part of a feeding.

          I tried "training" my fish by gently tapping on the canopy of my tank in a distinct way as I fed them for a few days. Over time, the fish have learned that tapping = feeding time.

          To my surprise, even the pleco shows up for feedings now.
