my albino fire eel?

so i have a new fire eel around 16 in or so and it has an oval spot on its right side that has no pigment, does anyone have an idea what this is? birth defect? im clueless.

but seriously, i think its just a small lack in pigmentation probably a genetic thing.

he seems fine and eats like a hoss. and hes very active, so i think you have a semi albino eel!
