  • Red stiphodon - Sicyopus exallisquamulus

Posting this up since Tim brought in quite a few of these and offering it at a great price. I always wanted some but the prices were never justifiable till now!

Found a really good article on them here

Right now I'm keeping a pair (hopefully adding another to make a trio 1m/2f) in my 30g low tech planted/invert tank with CRS/CBS/RCS/CPO, pair of Celebese halfbeaks and group of boraras. So far they don't seem to bother anyone other than the male chasing off the female.

When feeding the tank the two have taken notice and shown a bit of interest but I have yet to see either eat.

    Some photos of my pr.

    Just noticed this . . . cool.
    Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I don't have them in with any shrimp, so I can't say one way or the other.

My shrimp as always hiding so I can't either if they are safe or not but even if they did eat the shrimp I think I would see a bulge in their stomachs which I don't...
