hi i stopped breeding these and i no longer keep them.
the reason is they dont sell.
i ended up lossing a lot of money on them.
they are so rare nobody really knows about them or buys them.
so sadly its a bad investment on my part.

i did breed a few of them, but they do not have many offspring.
it is very time consuming to breed them and it takes many years 5+ maybe for them to reach maturity.

i feel they will never be a popular fish in the usa, due to no demand and the high price to import and buy them, compared to the low price and low demand for them.

most people do not have a setup to keep or breed them

they need a low ph, soft water, constant source of live algae
very very fast moving water, they cant tolerate water temps above 72f well.

a water chiller, ro machine, alage tanks to grow alage rocks, specialized filters and water movers, etc are needed for them.

without all that they wont live, they are not possible to kewp im summer without a water chiller as well.

        very nice lookimg fish though

anyone interested in keeping them i wouod discourage because they are very demanding fish that need very cold fast moving water, which most aquariums are not set up for.

                ok cool.
i am breeding other fish right now, that are better commercially wise.
but the panda fish are still one of the best looking freshwater fish i have seen.
they look so cool with crystal shrimp or taiwan bee shrimp.

they probably wont be around long i belive they are only found in 1 or 2 creeks in china and their habitat is being ruined by pollution.

there really is no other fish like though.

are you keeping these fish warlock?

they get to be about 1"
                    not very big at all.

the adults loose color and turn grey and loose the black and white pattern
most people never want the adults because the color is really bad.
i sold a few thousand of them here in the usa, so a lot lots of people must have them now
i see people on forums selling them for $60-$100 each. lol
i got rid of my stock for $1-5$ each.

the imported ones from asia tend to come with internal parasites and dont life very long.
im working on breeding some high end bettas and guppies right now.

yea i have kept bettas for a while but recently started getting into the nicer imported ones.

its is so much work to breed them.
if you ever breed any please let me know i would love to buy some.
i wish more people in the usa would breed them and sell them.
stinks we have to buy them all the way from asia.
shipping is more than the fish are
