    Sad, sad day for plecos...

Sorry to hear that, I would certainly have thought the L91 would have been tough enough...

Hmmm.... Maybe a water shift? Were all these WC? About the only answer I can say. With everything else in the tank doing well, I can't imagine it would be a water quality issue. Did not look up the sheet on planet catfish, but will and see if anything jumps out.

My L200 is still kicking strong. The L91 were in a hard water tank at time of pick up and were doing fine.

Yeah, nothing jumped out at me on the page and all the searches for issues/illness came up with nothing. Something that quick and abrupt almost has to be water related though. Especially with three of five being affected. Oxygenation? Residual chemical issue? I know your parameters are good... Any odd chemical supplementation recently? Heavy breathing? Have you done any investigation over some sort of gill parasite or fluke? I'm really just drawing at straws, its a mystery to me as well.

On a long shot could it be a temp related issue?

Don't think so. It's done now, and the rest of my fish are in fine fettle so that's good

Get some more and try it again. Is Tim going to get anymore of the L91?

I asked Tim and all the ones in his tank are doing well. They are wild caught and before it was shipped to Tim they were acclimated to US waters for a month in Florida(info came from Tim). So it might be the fish that we are keeping them with. Lets see how the other 3 L91 does.
