  • red tail catfish ripped of barbel

I have a 4-5" red tail catfish that lives in my 75gal tank with a bunch of cichlids. I think my jaguar cichlid ate/ripped his nasal barbel off. Came home and he was floating at the top of the tank... He was still alive and just in shock so i put him inside a log and upped the salinity in the tank and hes doing much better a week or so later...He has a huge hole in his face where the barbel used to be but he is back to swimming the tank and eating. Wondering if there is anything else i should do? I also read a couple things about barbels growing back does anyone have any experience with this?
135gal- blue ahli, bumble bee, flowerhorn, plecos, jaguar, rtc
75gal- 2 spotted gar, 9" sengali birchir, freshwater snowflake mooray eel, synodontis catfish, 10" royal knife,
30gal- pleco, tetras, rope fish, featherfin cat, guppies, gouramis

Adding salt is already good enough. No need to go out and spend more money. Just give it time. I'm not sure if the barbel will grow back, but if it does, I'd assume it'll take much longer than if they were injured elsewhere.
