Striped Raphael Catfish (Platydoras Costatus)

Finally saw this guy again after throwing him into my sump about 2 months ago, did some maintenance in the sump and had to move him for a bit. got him from Petsmart at about 3/4-1" and only decided to get it cause it's a southamerican cat, I had $6 off coupon after grabbing some dog food and it looked cool

He's down in the sump with a few other mini-predators and a thor that I don't want to part with and don't want in the display.

Sitting in a Pho to-go cup, washington for size reference.

Looks badarse! I didn't see that in there last time. Must've been hiding real good. My irwinis are starting to come out every now and then. They're like 4-5".

Petsmart. They're everywhere. Very underrated cat, yet they're so awesome and small. Xtreme has the giant versions incorrectly labeled as "target fish" which are Giant Raphael Cats (Megalodoras Irwini/Uranoscopus) and can get up to a few feet.

They're easily missed and normally at the big chains.

From what I read they only get about 8" and its a long journey before that happens.
