ok guys i have a question
do you have to have these catfish by themselves in a tank to breed them or can you have them with guppys etc and still breed ?>
They can be bred in a community environment... even with cichlids. The tankmates can impact the survival rate of of the baby plecos.
Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
So after multiple moves over the past 6 years I have went from a 20g full of tetras, danios, and all kinds of other fish and plants to a 2g hex tank with 1 pleco. I originally had 2 which surprisingly got busy and laid some eggs. At one point I had 6 plecos and I was not even trying to keep the eggs safe. So sad, but my next project will be a mixed reef tank. Moving to salt, but will keep this small fw tank.
