Sounds like they are doing well! Just wanted a little background on the tank. With the stock, I'd just suggest a solid water change schedule and lowering the nitrates, teamed up with Melafix should have your Synodont in good shape in no time. They are really tough little fish and can take a few licks. We have some Petricolas and they take heat from gobies and multis without a thought at all. Good luck and keep us updated with any changes
