            You will be lucky if they get 3 inches. mine hide all the time too. Feeding time they come out for a little bit.

                I would really love some kind of cat for the 10gal that won't hide all the time. Is there any such cat?

                          Most Cat fish are hiders. They feed off the bottom and become more active at night. Most get quite large but some do stay small. So size for a 10g that doesn't hide all the time. I would go with Albino Bristle Nose Pleco. They stay small. Six inches is as big as they get. I have had some one tell me they had one 9" but I never seen one that big. My long fin male is only about four inches and his mate is only three inches. They do hide some but not as much as others.
