I have a Rena Can filter that uses a 5/8" tubing and it is too small to slip onto the nozzles on the bottom of the tank in the drain box. How do I hook it up?

For future refference, the tubing will get softer if you stick the end in a pot of boiling water. After you force it on and it cools, it will return to the orignal firmness.'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

If you are lazy, just nuke a cup of water for a min in the microwave.

One more question. There is that groove on both sides of the bulkhead for the discharge pipe, how would I go about plugging one side so that fish don't end up going into the overflow?
I am leaving town for a week and I am worried that if the water level gets low, that water will stop topping the bulkhead, but I don't want it so high that my little tetra end up in the filter.
Right now the water level in the bulkhead is pretty low and I am getting air in my filter.
I filled my tank and put a piece of airline tube in the spot at an angle braced on the edge,....temporary fix.Last edited by djmatthewblack; 03-06-2009, 03:07 AM.
