Truth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.

GE type 2 has the higher strength, etc. BUT.... I have had 3 different tubes (different mfg codes) that DID NOT CURE (polymerize). Fortunately I was not using it for aquariums. I verified this by depositing samples on a piece of glass , after 2 + days some samples were soft and stickey ,like chewing gum.
GE either sold , or tried to sell the silicone division last year; that may have something to do with the problem. I have been using Dow and other brands (not sucontracted by GE), and I let a test sample cure before I use the material.

I have always used CLR 33S silicone the same stuff used on all ocean atlantis tanks. Works very wells, use new razor blade to strip all old silicone make sure to the glass then use hair blow dryer to dry off all moisture heat it up so the silicone can cure quicker. If you want your favorite tank last forever, you can use 1/4 inch thick 1/2-3/4 wide glass strip apply silicone first then press glass strip gently down and into corner make sure put enough pressure so there will be no air trap between glass. This method is perfect for any one that have tank that leaks from side coners. Needs any glass strips or silicone call PAT 281-530-8563 thanks and good luck.

I even prep the edges to be sealed by roughing up the area where the silicone would go with some wet sanding and then cleaning with rubbing alcohol.

To Algarciajr, not a good if you already sanded down the corners, cause that will trap dirts and moisture. Best advise is to heat up using hair blow dryer then start resealing. good luck!

I finally finished resealing the 200 Oceanic..

I ran across a good deal on this tank I could not pass on. The guy decided to get out of the hobby after hurricane Ike.

                It came with the following:
                200 Oceanic with stand
                2 Rena XP4
                2 Aquaclear Powerheads 110
                2 JBJ light fixtures
                Gravel and scaping rocks
