    For a 150 Gallon Tank 30" Height what would you do?

    3-150W 20K Metal Halide Fixture


    or

    4-96W Power Compact Fixture with Dual Daylight (6.7K/10K) and Dual Actinic (420/460)


    Please dont say both in the same fixture, I do not want to spend a grand.

    Replace the Artinics with these lights. http://www.uvlco.com/t5vho.htm Use the green tip for 10k or the blue tip 12k 50/50 lights I have installed a 12k 50/50 together with a 10k.. come over one of these days and see the lighting.. and see if you are impressed with T5's

      im with zulaab .... go with the t-5's . but if your electricity bill has no bearing on the decision id go with the halides.
      check marshreef for lights if you havn't already people are always getting rid of way cooler stuff than on the box.

        You don't want 20k's over your tropheus, looks horrible, trust me. That's what's in my fixture now and they're wayyyy too blue.

        If I had the cash, this is the fixture I had my eye on...

          j-ws6 .. i agree that 20k is too blue but you can always change the bulbs. i thought he said he didnt want to spend $1K on light

                T5s.

                Right now I'm testing a fixture that has 4x39W on a 120 (4x2x2). I really like it so, I;m looking at the 6x54 for my 120s and moving the 4x39 to my 90 (3x2x2). It is a lot of light. I do a combination of powerglo and aquaflora bulbs. When I get to try out the 6 bulb fixure, I'm not sure about the 2 open spots yet.

                        Because I want something different. The PC fixture's typically run hot, and I already have T5's and I like them, but just looking for something else

                              I liked the 8-39W 72" T5 fixture that fishneedit.com sells, but there is no cooling fans installed.

                              I read a couple of reviews on them, and seems like they run hot.
