ok, so I got a brand new Eheim 2262 from Dan today and was all stoked about getting it home and setup for my 125gallon. Well I got home, opened it up, and realized that there are a LOT of parts and NO instructions...in English anyways. Can anybody walk me through this installation, OR... is there anybody out there who could come over and show me first hand if I pay for your gas money and provide the beer and pizza?

Newb,
You need to download the manual -- http://www.eheim.com/base/eheim/pdf/...60_classic.pdf
It should give you everything you need to know on how to setup the canister..
Now you still need to fill it with all the filtering material.. Did you already buy that ?
If not then you can assemble it tonight / tomorrow and then you can head over to like City Pets or HAW or somewhere they sell the materials you still need, or you can order it online.
Here is how much you need and approx cost at drsfostersmith.
Ehfisubstrat Pro - 10 liters $200
Eheim Ehfifix - 5 liters $20
Eheim Ehfimech - 5 liters $40
Total of $260 for the filter material needed, that is if the canister is empty.
You wont use 100% of the Eheim Ehfifix and Eheim Ehfimech (You are going to use about 4 liters of each of those, but I am pretty sure as big as that canister is you can end up using it all or nearly. The main thing is the Ehfisubstrat Pro, which is your main biological breakdown item.
I hope this all helps :)
Keep smiling :)

thx for the manual. Dan told me to use bio-balls on the bottom layer, then the Ehfisubstrat Pro, then a thin layer of EhfiMECH, and then a layer of filter floss or a fine sponge. I have the Ehfisubstrat Pro and the EhfiMECH and the bioballs, just need the final layer. Hookups are a good thing to have!!!250gallon-Wild Angels, community

attach the drain nozzle
put 1 of 2 of the trays at the bottom
fill with media
place 2 of 2 tray on top of media
secure pump to the lid (with lid still being off)
attach the 90 degree pipe and and screw nut
tighten down.
See where you want to put your drain and return in the tank
run hose to the drain at the bottom of the canister
place lid on canister
secure the fittings
run intake hose to the pump
fill with water
insert power plug

? There is no circular black tube in a Eheim 2262.
The inside should be completely empty except for 2 trays. The tray with the longest legs goes on the bottom, then you pile your media ontop of that tray. The tray with the shortest legs on top of your final layer of media between that and the lid.
Are you talking about the black O-ring that fits into the groove of the lid?

I personally prefer to leave the male component as the attached piece to the spray bar/suction intake etc, so that it all drains to a bucket380G For Sale $3000 Acrylic tank & stand
