I had just got a new 404 from newb and put that on my 55 gal and it is working great. I was moving my old 304 from that tank to another and now it leaks like crazy. I put some vasoline on the gasket and it still leaks. I have never had an issue with this filter till now. I checked and it seems its not making a seal. Do the rubber gaskets shrink or do the plastic baskets expand/ warp? anyone have any experance with thease?

The only time I have had trouble with them leaking is when some obstruction was keeping the parts from seating properly or the clip were not closed.
Try checking for stray objects when you re-assemble it.

Every thing is super clean around the seal. I called fluval this morning and they think it might be the clips are broken or stretched. I dont think this is the case though. I tried to reseat the filter head for around an hour lastnight and it only got worse. :furious: I have not been able to see any hair like cracks either. Im just stumped.
