Before changing out the water on one of my tanks I cut off my two 2262's. After draining the water (not all the way down to my suction screens), refilling the tank, and starting my filtration back up I noticed that one of my 2262's is spitting out those micro-bubbles like there's an air leak somewhere. Does anyone have any recommendation as to where the leak might be? Since it's an air leak and therefore a vacuum pressure must be present then I'm assuming it must be right at the suction to the pump.... does that make sense? I guess that's where I'll start unless I hear otherwise.....

    Anything will help! Thanks!!

You will need to purge your system (2262)

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Your pump is most likely cavitating either from plugged media, or plugged pump well.

Sometimes when you shutdown for a while, sludge will plug up in the well, and when you restart no it is out of center or and does not get the same flow it did before and this generates more motor heat that is now going to water. During normal operation your pumping water is what cools your motor, if the sludge builds up or hardens, no flow to cool the motor. So motor heat, builds up and is transfered to the air and to the water.

If you shutdown, and dont clean your media, or atleast the mechanical media, sometimes the sludge will drop down and plug up, or during the intial start, a slug chunck will plug up your fine media and creates a suction head loss which causes the water to heat up more.

HAve you cleaned this filter yet? Is this your first time to clean it?
