my return pump...

i think my return pump (mag 7) from my W/D is raising the temp of my tank.... when i was cleaning my tank yesterday the pump felt pretty warm and my tank is at 82 degrees but my heaters is set at 80...is something wrong?

That's normal with mag pumps, just set your heater at 78 and see what happend.

All pumps are going to add heat to the water.

What type of thermostat are you using?

In my experience most are off by a few degrees.

the little black digital one that they sale everywhere...john has one on his 210

the digital ones are junk IMHO. I had two and put them in the trash.

You might want to try another one just to check and see if the one you have is accurate.

make sure you take it apart from time to time to clean the impeller and rotor well. more friction = more heat
