Do you guys think these products do what they claim? When you've used them, did you find it safe enough to immediately put fish in the tank?

If it's not quite what it claims to be, would it help if, after adding it, you spent a few days adding ammonia to really get it started?

i swear by tetra safe start...used it a million times and it saved my geos from a big mini cycle after i killed all my BB....i can say from experience that immediately after you use it, you can add fish, however a HUGE bio load will not be tolerated. so as long as you stock the tank lightly at first you can add fish right away...and dont add ammonia...the fish produce enough

It would be worth the test. I use it because it gives me a piece of mind when I dont have spare filter media or want to go through the hassle. But thats a good test idea

Thanks, guys. I'll try it when I set up my 15 gallon and put my five Von Rios in there.

Honestly I dont know. I started using Seachem and continue to use it out of habit. I think there other chemicals are the best so I just figured. Unless someone tests them we will never know. Maybe if I get time I will by a bottle of both and test them.

I know for a fact that the following products work.

                    Kent Marine Ecco-Start and Marineland's Bio-Spira.

I have put fish in the next day and not had a single problem.

                      Geoff,
Know where I can get some locally or on the net? I plan on starting up my 180g in a week or and want to make sure nothing happens to my petros.

Fish Ranch on Larkwood and 59 has Bio-Spira. I would give them a call first. It has to be refrigerated
